 The Menifee Valley
The Menifee Valley consists of the unincorporated areas known as Sun City, Menifee, and Quail Valley. Early development of Menifee Valley began with Sun City in the early 1960's as the concept of an active retirement community was envisioned by Del Webb, a major building contractor from Phoenix, Arizona. Since that time, Menifee Valley has grown in population to 66,000 and has 5 elementary schools 3 middle schools and one high school. Many types of living are available in Menifee Valley. There are single-family homes, condominiums, mobile homes, and retirement complexes with varying levels of services. Residents of the area are always close to one of several nearby golf courses, medical facilities, shopping centers, and financial institutions. There are approximately 130 clubs and organizations, over 40 churches and a synagogue.
Location
The Menifee Valley is located adjacent to Interstate 215, which connects with major east-west arteries I-10 and I-8. From Sun City it is about 25 miles to Riverside, 75 miles to Los Angeles, and approximately 75 miles to San Diego. It is between the Santa Ana Mountains on the west and the Santa Rosa Mountains on the east. State Highway 74 runs over the mountains from San Juan Capistrano on the coast to the county's eastern desert areas, including Palm Springs and Palm Desert.
Climate
The average rainfall is 13 inches per year. The average temperature is 71 degrees Fahrenheit, with a minimum of 38 degrees. Summer days can go above 100 degrees. Humidity is approximately 25%. Nights are generally cool.
Transporation
The Ontario International Airport, about 44 miles to the northwest, connects with all major airports and has direct service to any North American cities. In addition, there are several major air freight carriers at Ontario. Passenger service is also available at the Palm Springs Airport. Riverside Municipal Airport, approximately 35 miles to the northwest, has several operators and general aviation services. The near-by county-owned Hemet-Ryan Airport has a 4,300 foot runway and also has general aviation facilities. Bus service to the Menifee Valley is provided by the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA). There is Greyhound bus service with connections at Riverside and San Diego, providing linkage with Trailways, the Southern California Rapid Transit District, an other systems.
Recreation
The towns and cities in the western half of Riverside County offer a wide variety of recreational and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors. Few parts of our nation can boast such a selection within a short driving distance. Within Riverside County are forested mountains, lakes, rivers and desert areas that provide diverse year-round sports and recreation. A pleasant drive into nearby mountain ranges puts you on ski slopes in winter or in beautiful spots for summer hiking, camping, and picnicking. There numerous lakes with various facilities for water sports and fishing. There are over 34 parks in the Riverside County Park system. Community parks and playgrounds also offer many areas for baseball, soccer, football, and other field sports. For the more adventurous, skydiving, hang gliding, hot-air ballooning, and motor-cross riding are also available. People make the difference in Menifee Valley...and people make the Menifee Valley a great place to do business, raise a family and, for those age 55 or better, just enjoy the good life!!

Menifee Valley, encompassing 42 square miles, is centrally located on the 215 between Temecula, Murrieta, Perris and Hemet making this community an oasis for a qualified workforce, industry and top quality rural living. Menifee Valley is where residents can be live generations, from birth through retirement in a sophisticated country environment.
The Chamber has begun its march into the future with an aggressive plan to encourage high quality development that is community-sensitive for Menifee Valley. At the core of this plan is building a future city with creative development that will add distinction to the community's viability as a commercial, educational and residential market.
The phenomenal growth rate of 48% between 1990 and 2003 in Menifee Valley indicate an exciting and historic period. The future looks bright with commercial developments being proposed on the 215 corridors south of Newport to Scott Road. Entertainment complexes, exciting retail shopping establishments with delightful dining experiences for the young and old are being sought. Menifee Valley is projected to have a total of 1.86 million square feet of retail development by the end of 2015.
Although this area currently serves as a bedroom community for the workforce of North County San Diego, Temecula, Riverside, Corona and as Orange County, economic developments groups are in the process of recruiting future quality employers to relocate in Menifee Valley. It is the desire of many residents to work and live in the same community.
To say that the future is bright for Menifee Valley could be a slight understatement. The changes will be exciting, the growth phenomenal and the citizen participation un- matched. Menifee Valley is the city of tomorrow. And the future is today!

| Senior Services That Make Menifee a Great Place to Retire

Seniors can experience a wide range of programs and services at the Kay Ceniceros Community Center located on Newport and Evans. Nourishing and delicious food is served through the lunch program, which also features speakers and entertainment Monday through Friday. The center has a transportation program, Adult day care and coordinates the Meals-On-Wheels program, provides informational referral, recreation, health and community support. Seniors can participate in card games, take day and overnight trips, play Bingo and enjoy ballroom dancing at the Center-and much more! For information, call 951-679-2263.
Riverside County Council of Aging offers many senior support services, including home-delivered meals, home repair and maintenance, support and education, Transportation, visitations and legal assistance. The council is an excellent source of information and referrals for senior and their families.
The Center is also the location of County Supervisor Jeff Stone offices. Instead of residents going to the City of Riverside, the community can enjoy the one-on-one contact with the areas only governmental agency.
